42 vs 72. Who did it better? 😅😅😅 I had to dig up some old photos of myself for an upcoming interview and boy oh boy was I shocked! I just don’t remember myself being that big for that long. I thought it was just for a short period of time. I thought it was just old age creeping in, but when I look back through decades of photos, I see a different story. Kobieta cały czas pracuje nad swoją sylwetką, która już robi ogromne wrażenie. Oprócz imponujących nagrań ze swoich treningów, Joan na swoim Instagramie publikuje także motywujące wpisy, w których namawia inne kobiety w jej wieku, by nie bały się próbować nowych rzeczy. Ladies, repeat after me, YES WE CAN!! . Don’t ever tell yourself you can’t do something. Lots of people my age have gotten to a point where they are so afraid of failing at something that they don’t allow themselves to try something new. I had that mindset too and it didn’t serve me. Making myself learn new things, new apps, learning how to use an I-phone, learning Spanish, learning how to meditate, learning how to exercise properly, heck all of the things I have been trying to learn to do these past two years have made me a better version of who I am today. And I’ll be completely honest with you, I have made more mistakes than I care to count. I have failed. I have forgotten things as simple as passwords. I’ve had my tricep push downs corrected again and again. Luckily at my age I’ve forgotten that I’ve forgotten so it’s not so bad. 😅😅 But the more I’ve learned, the faster I’ve become. I’m still pretty slow, but I’m at least moving forward now. Join me!!! . Squats!! 😅😅 Please remember that just two years ago I could barely bend my knees (arthritis and knee replacement surgery), and I was 60 lbs heavier. My daughter has been teaching me how to squat lately, and I’m using the smith machine to keep me in the right position as I go up and down. I have really painful shoulders so I have a wide grip which makes it much easier. I’m trying to keep my hips engaged as I go up and down. I’m trying to hold my breathe and keep my back strong. That is a LOT of things to think about at my age, let me tell you, but I’m doing my best and each day I squat I try to get a little better. My inspiration today is @dfynefitnessmag and @mduff2404 who introduced me to this incredible lady. Let’s start a revolution ladies! I’m heading back to @tulumstrengthclub at the end of June for another immersion! Every time I train with @yourhealthyhedonista and @jeanjacquesbarrett I learn so much! 😅 It kind of makes me feel like I must be doing everything wrong though 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️! But I guess I’m still makinh progress anyway, so it’s not about being perfect , right? Like my coach says, it’s about showing up day after day, giving it your best shot based on what you know at the time, and being opening to making changes. . These are 45 degree lay pull downs. 1) don’t move around! Just get into position and then let the arms and back do all the work. Maintain a roughly 45 degree back angle 2) keep the shoulders rolled back at the finish 3) touch the bar to the high chest . These are great for a dowagers back, trust me! Give these a try and let me know how it goes. I did 4 sets of 12 as part of a superset with DB shoulder presses. . . . #womenwithmuscle #fitspiration #bodybuilding #bodypositive #silverhair
